Criteria for Poetry
We think that a poem is fabulous when:
- It rhymes. This gives it a certain rhythm. It makes the poem interesting to read
- It's relatable. This makes us have a connection with the author or to the words
- Has good vocabulary. If it doesn't have educated words, there is no imagery and it tends to be boring.
- Has imagery. This helps us understand the poem and see whats happening in your head.
- Has good grammar. When a poem has good grammar, the words fit together and the poem seems to flow and have a good quality
- The poem also has to have a good beginning/introduction. This helps catch the readers' attention.
- The poem must also have a good ending/conclusion. When a poem has a good conclusion, it leaves the reader with a sense of calmness to know how it ends if it has a good ending.
